How big is your lead pile?

Every lead that does not close rolls forward into the CRM. At 1,000 leads a month and a 10% close, 2,700 leads are sitting unworked by day 90, and re-engaging just 2% of them is 54 more sales with no new lead spend. Enter your own numbers below.

Illustrative math, the same model as the deck: leads that do not close roll forward for three months, and 2% of the pile is re-engaged into a sale. Your real close rate by lead age changes the answer.

FAQ

Questions about the pile

How is the unworked lead pile calculated?
Leads a month times the share that do not close, carried for three months. At 1,000 leads and a 10% close, 900 roll forward each month, so 2,700 are in the pile at day 90.
Why re-engage only 2%?
It is a deliberately small number. The point is that even a sliver of the pile is real sales. On an illustrative store over six months, 222 of 600 sales came from leads older than 30 days.
Who works a 180-day-old lead?
Usually nobody, because nobody staffs a BDC to work 180-day-old leads by hand. That is the gap. Strategy and performance and BDC consulting are where we start.
